I mentioned before that one of the guilds I had been in was EVIL. They were a pretty good guild, and I had a lot of fun with them.
Well, last night, I was in the EVIL guild hall harvesting the nodes. Suddenly, without warning, I was booted from the guild hall. When I loaded, I checked, and I was no longer in EVIL. I was a bit concerned, because I had no idea what I might have done to deserve a kick, but then I noticed a fellow guild mate standing there in Lions Arch.
As I prepared to talk to him, to see if he could ask one of the admins why I was kicked, I noticed the EVIL tag next to his name disappeared. I asked him, and it turned out he was kicked as well. We saw another person nearby with an EVIL tag, and while we watched, it disappeared from him as well.
Turns out that someone rose in the ranks in the guild who had some sort of bone to pick with the guild (either with a member, members, or maybe the whole guild... who knows?) Once this person was an admin, they spiked the guild, kicking everyone. I found out the full details on reddit today
If you play on NA, you've probably seen us before. We were known as [EviL] and we had 4 full Guilds of active players with max level guild halls. We would run scheduled events every day including Hero Point trains, World Boss trains, raids, Silverwastes farms and more!
However, we were griefed by a very longstanding member who had made it to the top of our ranks out of spite. He demoted all the other leaders in order to spike everyone from the guild.
So now, we're rebuilding from scratch. Within minutes of asking, we already got thousands of gold in donations from our members, and our leaders are determined to get us back on our feet as soon as possible.
If you're a former [EviL] member or a new member interested in becoming part of our family, post your account name below!
Kind of sad... and also something of a cautionary tale to anyone out there running a guild...
I think I failed to mention this, but Waffmula (friend from old ClanAM FFXI
days, and who started GW2 with Tirx and I but then left after about 6 months)
is back in the game, which is a lot of fun. We've started doing things together,
but haven't, honestly, generated too many screenshots yet.
Here's Trix, Waffmula and myself in Dragon Stand at the spot where you can
see Rata Sum (there's an achievement for this, and I had no idea it existed
until Waff came back and noticed it.)
We've even been doing missions together. Here we are on the final boss
for the second-to-last chapter of LS3.
And here's Waff and I doing his last mission for the main story:
With the new expansion on the horizon, I've been going back and making new
characters for the new elite specializations. I already posted on my Thief and
my Engineer, but here's "Freak of the Week", my new necro:
Her name is from the olf Funkadelic song Freak
of the Week. Here she is at 80 with most of her final look nailed
down.
The final chapter in LS3 was released recently. It's called "One Path Ends"
and it has us returning to Orr. I'd say it's a pretty good release, albeit
a bit harder (and slightly more frustrating) than past LS3 episodes. The new
area is pretty cool, and kind of refreshing since we haven't seen any new Orr
maps since the game's launch. Here we are fighting a giant in an event where
a big tree dude fights the giant:
I also, finally, got back doing raids again. See, when raids first came
out, I managed to beat Vale Guardian with a pick-up group. That group started
a raiding guild, which I was a part of, and then went on to be one of the great
raiding guilds out there. Unfortunately for me, they never raided when I had
time to join them, so I never went with them. About a year or so later, they
quietly removed me from the guild. I can't really blame them, but it
was a bummer because I had hoped to join them sometime.
Anyway, we went and did a few raid bosses, and got a couple of wins. Unfortunately,
I still don't really have a time schedule completely compatible with this group,
so, while I'm still on their roster, I'm now considered an alternate. Here
we are about to kill Samarog:
Finally, with a recent update they added Catmander tags! These are tags which
have cat faces on them instead of the classic commander dorito. So, of course,
I had to go get one.
