Molina Snu Snu
- Level 80 Guardian
- Norn Female
- Birthday: 5/8/2013
Molina was my sixth character created, and was born as a response to
my GW2 gaming thus far.
By mid-2013 I was pretty heavily into WvW. I routinely ran my Ranger,
Engineer and Necro in The Mists, and had gotten pretty good at playing
each in WvW. I mostly played in group v. group and zerg settings.
The one thing I learned pretty quickly was that group/zerg size
didn't really matter in terms of success. The more important things were
the skills of the players in the group and how tough they were.
A zerg of "glass cannons" would quickly crumple under the attack of a
skilled, resilient, smaller force.
Skill, I had. My ranger could rope-a-dope with the best of them
(people always underestimate the ranger). But I was best utilized at a
distance. Standing away from the group, lobbing barrages to rain down on
foes (crippling them in the process) or sniping key targets was my bread and
butter. Switching to a close-range weapon (greatsword, sword, dagger, and sort-of
torch) would prove risky. If I focused too much on Toughness and Vitality, my
damage would suffer. Focus too little on them, and I'd melt in crowds.
I developed a real envy for close-quarter attackers that could dish it out
and hold their own. Additionally, as a medium armor wearer, there was only
so much Toughness/Vitality I could stack on. The heavies could pile on
considerably more.
Since I wasn't digging Warrior in WvW (I wasn't digging Warrior in general),
I decided to give Guardian a try. And thus, Molina was born.
Her name was born out of a mash-up. I was listening to Creedence Clearwater
Revival's Molina as I
was creating the character, and the Amazonian quality of Norn women made me
think of "death
by snu snu".
