Cor Aut Mors was my first character in Guild Wars 2. He was created on the same day as the GW2 release.

In keeping with a tradition I started back when I played FFXI, I chose my first character's name from a Latin phrase. "Cor Aut Mors" translates as "Heart or Death" and basically means "If you deviate from your heart- your core- your life loses meaning and existence becomes irrelevant". The name isn't quite as resonating as "Vis Maior" was back in FFXI, but I like it all the same.

I picked Norn Male as the race and gender of the character because I'm a big guy myself and tend to gravitate towards playing as large, tall characters. Again, I did the same thing back in FFXI and Cor Aut Mors wound up looking an awful lot like Vis Maior. As for the job, I picked Engineer because, of all the starting jobs in the game, it appealed to me the most.

In 2016 I changed Cor's gender from male to female, so now I have all female characters.
